ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS
ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE FULL OR ASSOCIATE MEMBERS OF BOTH HKCFP AND RACGP WHO ARE FULLY REGISTERED WITH THE HONG KONG MEDICAL COUNCIL BY THE TIME OF THE CONJOINT EXAMINATION.
It is the candidates' own responsibility to ensure the membership of the respective Colleges. Candidates may apply for the Examination under either of the two following categories, SUBJECT TO THE FINAL APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONJOINT EXAMINATION.
For both categories, a valid CPR (Competence in Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation) certificate completed within the 12 months prior to the close date for application and issued by HKCFP is a PREREQUISITE for sitting the Clinical Examination of the Conjoint Fellowship Examination.
Category I Candidates
Category I candidates are graduate doctors who are undergoing a full approved vocational training programme as outlined in the College's Handbook for Vocational Training in Family Medicine.
After satisfactory completion of two years of approved training, Category I candidates or trainees may apply to sit the Written Examination, both the two segments of which must be taken at the same attempt.
After satisfactory completion of four years of supervised training, Category I candidates may apply to sit the Clinical Examination.
REMARKS: |
All Category I candidates who apply to sit the Written Examination MUST submit evidence of completion of 18 months of approved training by 30 June 2005, together with the application. Those who apply for the Clinical Examination MUST submit evidence of completion of 42 months of approved training by 30 June 2005, together with the application. Part-time trainees must have completed their vocational training by the time of the written examination before they can apply to sit the examination. |
Category II Candidates
Category II candidates are doctors who have been predominantly in general practice for not less than five years by 30 June 2005.
Category II Candidates must apply to sit both the Written Examination and the Clinical Examination on first application.
Enquiries about eligibility to sit the examination should be directed to the Chairman of the Board of Conjoint Examination.
