Categories of Members

A person shall be eligible for admission to Full Membership if

He is a medical practitioner fully registered with the Hong Kong Medical Council, who has been predominantly engaged in family medicine for not less than three years, of which one year at the least should be engaged in family medicine in Hong Kong SAR and is proposed by a Full Member of the College and seconded by another Full Member of the College;

He is in possession of one of the following qualifications : CCFP, DAB Family Practice, FAAFP, FCFP, FRACGP, FRCGP, FRNZCGP, MICGP, MRCGP, MRNZCGP, MFM (Monash), MFM(Clin)(Monash), DFM(Monash), DFM(CUHK), DFM(HKCFP), MMed(FamilyMedicine)(Singapore), or other qualifications as determined by the College from time to time, AND documentation of Quality Assurance Activities or its equivalent *.(*HKCFP QA&A year-end report of 30 credit points or more with at least 10 credit points obtained from CPD activities will be taken as adequate documentation) for the most recent three consecutive years

He submits an application to the Honorary Secretary in the form prescribed by the Council

He gives an undertaking that he will, if elected:

uphold and promote to the best of his ability the aims and objectives of the College

observe and comply with the provisions of the Memorandum and Articles of Association and such Regulations and By-Laws of the College as may from time to time be in force

his application is endorsed by the Chairman of the Membership Committee and approved by the Council

A Full Member shall receive a Certificate of Admission to Full Membership
