The Hong Kong College of Family Physicians
The Regulation of Award of Continuing Medical Education Certificate

  • Participants who have been awarded not less than 30 credit points per year under the "Regulations for award of the Certificate of Continuing Medical Education Certificate", will be awarded a CME certificate.

  • Please safe keep your CME certificate, as it is an important document.Application for certification of CME / CPD accreditation will cost an administrative charge as determined from time to time by the Council of the College, the charge in year 2005 being HK$500 per year.

  • Such application would not be entertained after four years.

Fellows and Members of the HKCFP who have fulfilled the requirements of the CME Certificate can also retain their active status.

HKAM(FM) fellows
with the CME Certificates in the three-year cycle can meet the CME requirements of the HKAM.

Practising Doctors (who are not taking CME programme for specialists)
who have been awarded CME certificate can meet the CME requirements of the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

(However, participants are strongly advised to work for the QA certificates, which will be needed when upgrading membership or fellowship status, in applying for reciprocal QA arrangement with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and in joining some of the Boards and Committees of the College.)
